The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a strong warning to Corps members regarding the responsible use of social media. During an address to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of NYSC, emphasized the importance of creating content that positively represents both the NYSC and Nigeria.
Nafiu highlighted that any negative posts made by Corps members on social media could lead to disciplinary actions. He also urged them to avoid unauthorized travel and to strictly follow camp instructions. The DG encouraged Corps members to adhere to simple guidelines, participate in biometrics, engage in their Community Development Service, and respect the cultural values of their host communities.
In a related update, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, reported that 2,101 Corps members—944 male and 1,157 female—have been deployed to the state, with camp activities progressing smoothly and showing high levels of discipline among participants.
The DG further called on Corps members to embody patriotism and to allow principles of integrity, efficiency, transparency, and commitment to guide their actions during their service.
