Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has approved a 13th-month salary bonus, dubbed the “Eno-mber” bonus, for state workers in preparation for the Christmas season. The announcement was made via his social media platforms on Monday, where he expressed his hope that the early disbursement would allow workers to celebrate the holidays with ease.

Governor Eno has instructed the state Accountant General to ensure the bonus is paid out before Christmas. He stated, “I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month.”

The 13th-month salary is an additional payment equivalent to one month’s salary, typically given at the end of the year to assist employees with festive expenses. This year’s bonus marks the third consecutive year that Governor Eno has provided this financial support to state workers.
