In a recent Federal Executive Council meeting, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the urgent need for enhanced security measures in Nigeria, particularly in light of ongoing challenges related to kidnapping and terrorism. He has directed the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS) to revisit and strengthen previous security protocols to ensure the safety of all citizens.

To address these pressing security threats, President Tinubu has instructed the formation of a committee tasked with implementing these directives without delay. He highlighted the importance of arming forest guards to better protect vulnerable areas and called for a more active role from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in community safety efforts.

In addition to security matters, the President addressed agricultural reforms, specifically regarding livestock management. He has tasked Vice President Kashim Shettima with convening the National Economic Council (NEC) to explore the identification of grazing reserves or villages suitable for conversion into modern ranches. This initiative aims to reduce conflicts over land use and enhance economic opportunities within the agricultural sector.

President Tinubu underscored the principle that land ownership resides with the states, urging governors to collaborate in the establishment of sustainable livestock settlements to foster peace and economic development.
