Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District, has expressed strong doubts about President Bola Tinubu’s chances of winning re-election in the 2027 presidential election.
Abaribe claimed that Tinubu never legitimately won the 2023 election and pointed to the current hardships faced by Nigerians as a significant factor in their determination to prevent his return to power.

Abaribe stated, “I do not think so. Everybody loses elections, and you will see when the time comes. He will lose in 2027 because I know what Nigerians are feeling outside.” He emphasized that the prevailing economic difficulties and ongoing insecurity under Tinubu’s administration would hinder his ability to garner sufficient votes.

The senator criticized the electoral process, suggesting that the manner in which results were announced in the past would not be acceptable in future elections. He asserted that the electorate is now more prepared and vigilant, indicating that they would no longer tolerate what he described as hasty announcements of election outcomes.
Abaribe concluded by questioning where Tinubu would find the support needed to secure a victory in 2027, given the current state of the economy and public sentiment.
