A serious road accident occurred at the Odogbolu junction along the Sagamu-Ore Expressway in Ogun State, injuring at least thirteen individuals, including three children. The incident involved a head-on collision between a blue Toyota Varso and an ash-coloured Mercedes Benz.
According to officials from the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency and the Amotekun Corps, the driver of the Mercedes Benz lost control while driving at excessive speed, leading to the crash. In total, 18 people were involved in the accident, comprising ten males, five females, and three children.
All injured parties were promptly transported to IDERA Hospital in Odogbolu and Babcock University Teaching Hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported. Rescue teams from TRACE, Amotekun, and the police quickly arrived at the scene, cleared the wreckage, and restored normal traffic flow.
Eyewitnesses indicated that speed was a significant factor contributing to the collision, resulting in multiple injuries but, thankfully, no loss of life.
