Edo Assembly Receives Adhoc Committees Reports on MOWAA and Raddison and Other

Edo State House of Assembly Ad-Hoc Committees on the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA) and Radisson Blu Hotel have submitted their reports calling on the Edo State Government to repossess both properties.

According to the committees, the land titles and funding for the projects belong to the Edo State Government.

During the consideration of the report on MOWAA after presentation by the Adhoc Committee Chairman Hon Adeh Isibor, the House resolved to the Committee of the whole .

The report which had Eleven Findings and three recommendations was adopted as the Ninety Seventh resolution of the Eighth Assembly.

The House resolved that the land title on which MOWAA is sited belongs to the State Government and that the State Government also funded the project.

In the same vain, the report by the Adhoc Committee on Raddison Blu Hotel was presented by the Chairman Hon Jonathan Ibhamawu which was also considered at the committee of the whole.

The report has Twelve Findings and Four Recommendations and was adopted as the 98th resolution of the House.

The report queried the over 17 Billion Naira Bond used in funding the Project calling on the State Government to repossess the project.

During plenary, the Speaker Rt Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku called on the Edo State Traffic management Agency and the Federal Road Safety Corps to step their efforts towards maintaining and controlling traffic during the yuletide season as it is a busy period.

The Speaker stressed that Edo is a gateway to other parts of the country, which makes it a herculean task driving in Benin city this period .

He appealed to both agencies to assist in traffic management and control.

Also at Plenary,the Speaker announced the Defection of the Former Deputy Speaker and Member Representing Esan North East 11,Rt Hon Maria Oligbi-Edeko to the All progressives Congress APC in her ward over the weekend.

The Speaker, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku welcomed her to the progressive family emphasizing that her Constituents stand to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
The House thereafter adjourned sitting to Tuesday , 23rd December after an adjournment motion moved by Hon Donald Okogbe and Seconded by Hon Sunday Aghedo.
