Earlier Yesterday, I, the Students’ Union President, paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Commissioner of Police to discuss the rising cases of insecurity in Ekpoma, particularly the recent concerns surrounding kidnapping incidents affecting students and residents.
The Commissioner has assured that the Edo State Police Command is fully aware of the situation and is actively working to ensure that kidnapping and all forms of insecurity are nipped in the bud. He gave his word that constant patrols and vigorous search operations will be intensified within and around Ekpoma to restore peace and safety for both students and indigenes.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the Command is aware of the unfortunate incident involving a kidnapped student yesterday. He emphasized that his men are already gathering intelligence reports and deploying the necessary resources to ensure the student’s safe return and to apprehend the culprits.
The Students’ Union Government remains committed to the safety and welfare of all students and will continue to engage relevant authorities until lasting security is achieved.
