Police raid the morning Star brothel in Aguleri Anambra state, rescues over 25 underage girls used for prostitution.
Men of Nigeria Police Force yesterday got Intel about a brothel in Aguleri Anambra state, where underaged girls are being forced to sleep with men for money.
The girls found at the brothel was brought from different places including Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Niger state.
According to the police, they started the investigation because of a missing girl child in Ebonyi State in October last year, and continued to trace her until she was found at the brothel yesterday.
When the police asked one of the girls how she ended up in the brothel, she narrated that one of her cousin sisters brought her there, with the aim she is coming to work and earn a living to help her mother, but when she came she discovered that the said work was about sleeping with men, she started crying and asked them to allow her go back but they refused saying she must work for the money that was used to bring her to the place.
The girl further said she attempted to run twice but was caught and brought back to the brothel.
When asked about how they operate in the brothel, she said that, every evening, their madam asks them to wear panties and stand outside the brothel expecting men and if they are asked about their madam they should say they don’t have one.
The police said they have taken the matter up for further investigation while the victims have all been rescued and in their custody.
