Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a man, identified as Gafaru Rasaki, for the unlawful possession of four human heads in Sagamu area of the state.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, and made available to journalists in Abeokuta.

According to the statement, Rasaki was arrested on January 21, 2026, by officers attached to the Shakura Division during a routine operation in the area.

Babaseyi said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly exhumed the human remains from a cemetery.

“On the 21st of January, 2026, operatives of the Shakura Division arrested one Gafaru Rasaki in possession of four human heads,” the statement read.

“Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was discovered that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery, an act which constitutes a serious violation of the law and a gross disregard for the dignity of the deceased.”

The police spokesperson added that the recovered exhibits have been secured, while the suspect has been charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating crime and urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
