Contrary to speculations making the rounds on social media, the Ogun State Police Command has said a Nigerian TikToker, known simply as Mirabel, is not in custody.

the content creator, with the username @mirab351, recently alleged in a viral and emotional video that she was sexually assaulted by a yet-to-be-identified man.

The incident, which she claimed happened on Sunday, February 15, sparked heated conversations across various social media platforms under the hashtag #StopRapingWomen.

However, reports currently circulating on social media purported that the allegation was found to be untrue.

Some social media users also alleged that Mirabel was arrested by the police for misleading the general public.

Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the investigation is still ongoing.

“The case is still under investigation, and in due time, we will get to know whether it is true or false but for now, we are still investigating,” Babaseyi said.

Asked if Mirabel is in custody, the PPRO said, “We did not arrest her, so she is not in custody. When there is an arrest, we will make it public.”
