The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a suspected armed robber, Stanley Chibuike, who allegedly hid a pistol inside a loaf of bread. This incident occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by the Rapid Response Squad on November 6, 2025, at Koka Roundabout in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
According to SP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the police command, the operatives noticed Chibuike’s suspicious behavior, which led to a thorough search. During this search, they discovered a fabricated Beretta pistol concealed within the loaf of bread. Chibuike, 24, was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
The police have secured the weapon as evidence and are continuing their investigation to determine Chibuike’s potential involvement in armed robbery and kidnapping incidents in Asaba and surrounding areas.
Commissioner of Police Abaniwonda Olufemi praised the officers for their vigilance and professionalism, highlighting the discovery as a testament to the Command’s ongoing intelligence-driven operations. He emphasized the police’s commitment to identifying and prosecuting criminals, regardless of their methods, and encouraged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities, assuring that all information would be handled confidentially.
