Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sacked the State Head of Service (HoS) Alhaji Abdullahi Musa.

A statement by the governor’s spokesman Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa said Musa’s removal is with immediate effect.

The governor directed Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary for Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.

Yusuf directed the outgoing HoS to hand over the office affairs to the Ag. Head of Service (Maimota).

“The decision is part of the present administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions,” the statement said.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for the outgoing Head of Service’s contributions and dedication to the service of Kano State during his tenure.

He added, “We wish him the best in his future endeavours and pray for his continued success in all aspects of life.”
