Explosions were reported on Monday evening in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, causing panic among residents in several parts of the city.
Sources said the blasts occurred between about 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with loud explosions reportedly heard around the Monday Market, Kaleri, Post Office and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital areas.
Residents said the sounds triggered panic, prompting many people to leave the area and rush home for safety.
