Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri joined Vice President Kashim Shettima in Gusau for the formal reception of Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The event, attended by party leaders and supporters, marked the official defection of Governor Lawal and his political associates to the ruling party, in what stakeholders described as a significant boost to the APC’s growing national presence.
Governor Fintiri, who was part of the high-level delegation representing the President, joined Vice President Shettima in welcoming the Zamfara governor and his supporters into the APC fold, pledging unity and collaboration toward strengthening the party and advancing national development.
Speaking at the reception, Vice President Shettima expressed optimism about the country’s security outlook, stating that the end to insecurity in Nigeria is in sight. He noted that President Tinubu is working diligently to ensure that peace is restored and sustained across all parts of the country.
According to the Vice President, the administration remains committed to strengthening security architecture, supporting sub-national governments, and implementing policies aimed at stabilizing affected communities.
The reception concluded with party leaders reaffirming their commitment to unity, while urging members to work collectively to consolidate gains and expand the APC’s influence ahead of future political engagements.
