President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on his birthday, commending his courage, diligence, and steadfast commitment to the state’s development.
In a statement on Monday issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President conveyed his best wishes to Governor Bago, his family, friends, and political associates. The occasion provides an opportunity for appreciation, reflection, and renewed dedication to public service.
President Tinubu acknowledged Governor Bago’s transformative leadership in Niger State, particularly in health, education, and infrastructure development.
He also highlighted the governor’s sweeping reforms in agriculture, which earned him the popular epithet, “Farmer Governor.”
The President noted that Bago’s ambitious agricultural drive has positioned Niger State as a key player in Nigeria’s food security strategy, aligning with broader national efforts to boost local production and reduce reliance on food imports.
He expressed confidence that the governor’s professional background in the banking sector, combined with his legislative experience as a former member of the House of Representatives, equipped him with the capacity and vision required to navigate governance complexities.
According to the President, these experiences prepared Governor Bago for the “onerous, dynamic and purposeful responsibility” of repositioning Niger State and lifting many of its citizens out of poverty.
Tinubu further commended the governor’s focus on infrastructure renewal and social development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for state residents.
The President prayed for Governor Bago’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength as he steers the affairs of Niger State, expressing optimism that the state will witness even greater progress under his leadership.
